Snorkel Boom Aerial Platforms
Reconditioning program started for owners of Snorkel telescopic and articulating booms. This new business segment, headed by long term Snorkel employees, was awarded a contract with a major national rental firm to recondition a significant number of Snorkel telescopic boom lifts (from TB37's through TB126J's) as well as selected articulated booms.
"These new services are a result of requests from within the rental industry," emphasized Frank Scarborough, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "Owners will be able to cost-effectively extend the usable rental life of their Snorkel booms without the expense of purchasing new products."
All the work will be done by a group of highly qualified, Snorkel service technicians, Scarborough explained, and in some instances, we have the ability to finance the reconditioning costs.
Three Snorkel TB37's, 42's and 50's or two TB60's can be transported on one truck. This significantly reduces the inbound and outbound transporation costs. By scheduling completed units to meet inbound units, Snorkel can save owners additional transportation costs. Located 55 miles north of Kansas City, MO and west 2 miles from St. Joseph, MO, Snorkel is essentially in the center of the United States where trucking availability is ideal, according to Scarborough.
Snorkel International is a privately owned company, located in Elwood, Kansas. Chief Executive Officer is Al Havlin, a Snorkel supplier for nearly 30 years. When purchasing the company from Textron in Decmber 2002, Havlin emphasized that "Snorkel products have been recognized globally for quality, cost effective operation and ease of maintenance for many years. This new team will provide the high quality, reliable products (both newly manufactured and reconditioned) that our customers want and have come to expect from Snorkel".
